Anybody Here Collect Records?

Just wondering. I guess I have a record collection now, was wondering if anyone else on here has delved into physical media collecting. Here’s a snipit of a couple of my better mastered records.
Yes I need a cleaner.

And that is the only thing I’ll complain about my LP120X was the packaging. Firstly, Amazon used the retail box as the shipping container which isn’t good when you swear the UPS guy for your area punts packages onto the truck. Because of the lack of good packaging on Amazon’s part and how AudioTechnica puts stuff in the boxes, I have a big ass crack in the dust cover spanning most of the width of the player. It works fine though so I wasn’t gonna attempt a return/replacement, especially since a replacement would likely have the same damage.

That’s a damn shame, I wonder why? I’ve never seen that happen before. I know there’s some assembley required, nothing like my LP120X though which is a bit more complicated, but its just installing the dust cover and the platter.

that’s the thing, I got an atlp60, but it fell apart when I took it out of the box

And as for the Victrola players… yeah, they aren’t made the best, that’s for sure. If you have the space for a tabletop unit, I’d recommend saving up and getting an AudioTechnica AT-LP60X, two-speed unit with a built-in preamp, fully automatic, sounds really good for the price. There was a luggable unit in the Victrola/Crosley formfactor that was similar in spec to an LP60X, the MPK TT270, VWestLife on YouTube did a video about it, but it was seemingly discontinued, sad.

I know, it gets on my nerves to, speaking of, I am also into steve miller pre joker, back when it all sounded like a mix between blues and psycodelic rock

Nice. I’ve never really explored the bluesy side of Steve Miller. But Greatest Hits 74-78 has some issues.

Firstly, if you’re gonna include Fly Like an Eagle, you need Space Intro.

Secondly, they do include Treshold before Jet Air Liner, but they use the single mix of Jet Air Liner, why? And I get it, side length on records or tapes is limiited, but still why?

  46. zlunglrg Avatar
    zlunglrg

that reminds me, called the tape shop crying on the phone for book of dreams, and they only had greatest hits 74-78, got it on a german first tape pressing, and the person who picked it up for me also got steve millers living in the twentieth century, his lator bluesy stuff

  47. KanawhaCountyWX Avatar
    KanawhaCountyWX

I’ve got Fly Like an Eagle and Greatest Hits 1974-1978, still need Book of Dreams though.

Very nice. I’ve got everything from Benny Goodman to Wu-Tang. I had maybe about 30-40 records before I took on the good stuff from my late father’s collection, and now I’ve got nearly 130 of them. I need to get multiple crates or something because this got out of hand rapidly.
