Eloquence TTS (Android) — Alpha Testing Update
Hi everyone,
Thank you so much for the enthusiasm and the detailed feedback during the Eloquence TTS for Android Alpha. We truly appreciate your support as we work to bring this voice back to the platform. Below is a summary of what we’re currently investigating, confirming, and prioritizing based on your reports.
Bugs & Issues (by priority)
High
TTS does not activate immediately after subscribing.
Enabling Force Language while using TTS stops speech.
Pitch changes have no effect on some voice profiles.
Importing a dictionary fails unless a word is added manually.
Medium
Eloquence falls back to a secondary TTS instead of saying “Please register.”
Adjusting speech rate from the TalkBack reading menu does not affect Eloquence.
TTS reports “not registered” after reboot, or Google TTS is used instead.
Low
Unexpected behavior on devices with an unsupported system language.
Incompatibility with the AutoTTS app.
Odd readings of certain phrases.
Legacy issue: extra “comma” or “dot” spoken when punctuation processing is off.
Incorrect pronunciation of times (e.g., “1:00”, “3:00”).
Uppercase Spanish words are spelled out.
Feature Requests & Suggestions
Annual subscription option
Automatic fallback to a secondary TTS
Smartwatch support
Allow import of community and abbreviation (ENU) dictionaries
Rate multiplier to provide finer control over speech rate
Import/Export Eloquence settings to/from Google Drive
Automatic language detection

Nice. Wait how did you know that? Lol.
-
the wrapper code is the OS that runs it, and the app that distributes the software
-
And what makes the rapper code different?
-
I didn’t know it would apply lol
-
it does too apply. it’s the same engine, but the wraper code is different.
-
those are the common ones. However you could also make the thing quite literally sound verry weird if you do j u a r a s and then j u a s a bounch of times until it does something like thih juarasjuasjuasjuasjuasjuasjuasjuasjuas is (does not apply to NVDA eloquence.) or jaws.
-
basically, the tags in question are
*VB, pitch.
*VF, inflection.
*VS, speed
*VG, voice gender.
*Vr, ruffness.
*VY, breathyness.
*VV, volume. For example, VB#, where # represents the quantity of the voice tags’s setting in question.. E.g. `VB100 test -
So can you explain to me how that is done?
-
actually yes there are backquote tags on iOS but apple blocks certain ones unless there’s like 2 spaces behind it.
-
I hope it works out for you.
-
yeah
-
Nice.
-
i might, gotta figure out how that works
-
I know.
-
My dad used to use Android so I could test it on my dad’s backup whenever I get a chance. I don’t think there is back Quote tags on eloquence for iOS. The database errors are just a server bug that’s all. You you can’t stop it.
-
Can you even use back quote tags on the ios version of eliquence?
-
speaking of, doesn’t eloquence on iOS block certain tags while eloquence on android doesn’t? I think that was your only way of actually getting an inflection was to just use the vf xx tag and this only applies to the current tag, for example, `vf100 test
-
Yeah. Well like I said I’m lucky I don’t have android.
-
my eloquence works on my Moto G stiless so fuck that subscription bassed pile of dog shit to hell.
-
Yeah, I get it.And stop with the databace errors.
-
Yeah, I get it.
-
yeah I’m not getting a subscription unless it’s from BlindHelp. Also isn’t microhard more money hungry because of how much features they break and how much they’re stearing towards the Airplane system that is totally not flying it known as copilot… as well as other things like how they force you to stick to a microsoft account and how the local only command doesn’t work anymore?
-
Nice. Also Josh are you going to contribute to my blog as well?
-
agree, i won’t be paying for this cause the 32 bit version still works on my S23+
-
Yeah.
-
They would do that because they are scammers and they want to break people’s TTS. Also they better have the inflection setting like they do on iOS if they’re gonna make me pay for that. For those who don’t remember, the old version of Eloquence for Android did not have the inflection setting, so they better at least have that if they’re gonna make me pay for it, because if Apple, the closed-source money-hungry company can do it on iOS, then Code Factory can do it with the Android version.
-
@Grase. Why would they do that? Grace*
-
Hold up… they want eloquence to say "voice not registered" over and over instead of falling back to a secondary tts engine. This effectivly bricks tts so you can’t change voices. Someone please tell them falling back is a much better option, and fast!
-
Oh, I guess so.
-
It’s a little odd.
-
Same.
-
Yeah, agree with Ferre. That sucks.
-
to be honest with y’all, I feel so bad for android users. They have to buy a hole supscription while us IOS users have it completely free. It sucks
-
Cool news. some of its settings are from the iOS version of eloquence which is nice.
-
Okay. Thanks.
-
Still don’t know the pricing yet. I’ll keep posting updates in the future until eloquence on Android is released.
